Chile will be out to derail Brazil's drive towards a sixth World Cup title here on Monday when the South American teams meet in their Round of 16 showdown.
The Chileans are at the World Cup finals for the first time since France 1998 and their negotiation of the group phase is being celebrated by the fans back home as much as the players here.Ten-man Chile had a bittersweet night on Friday as they qualified for the last 16 despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Spain and will need to pull off the biggest shock of the World Cup so far if they are to beat Brazil. In contrast, Brazil coach Dunga has yet to grin a smile of satisfaction after any of his side's three performances here so far even though the South American giants are undefeated.
Convincing wins over North Korea and the Ivory Coast were followed by an uninspiring goalless draw with Portugal on Friday which Dunga spent in an agitated state gesticulating wildly and berating his players.

Watch Live Football Match England vs Germany
Old rivals England and Germany’s second-round match will set World Cup betting records purred by a wave of ‘patriotic gambles’ on the game, bookmakers said on Saturday. Bokmaker William Hill said the betting industry was likely to see a record 30 million pounds ($44.91 million) placed with many punters putting their money on a win for England in Bloemfontein on Sunday
‘The traditional rivalry between the two countries over the years has made it a certainty that up to 30 million pounds ($44.91 million) will be at stake on the outcome,’ said William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe said in a statement.
The previous biggest amount staked on a single game was just over 20 million pounds on the England v Portugal quarter-final in Gelsenkirchen in the 2006 World Cup, Sharpe said.

Diego Maradona says it’s time for the critics to stand up and hang their heads in shame.
He’d been branded a liability back home before the World Cup—a legend on the playing field, of course, but a naive tactician and attention-grabber who would squander the nation’s best chance of winning the title in years.
Three wins later in South Africa and the tone’s changed. Argentina, many now believe, could win the tournament.Next up is Mexico
on Sunday, with a place
in the quarterfinals at stake.
The two nations met at exactly the same stage of the 2006 World Cup in Germany, a long-distance strike by Maxi Rodriguez sending the Argentines through to the last eight in extra time.
The winner of today’s match will play either England or Germany.
Maradona, at least publicly, isn’t buying into the sudden status of Argentina being potential winners here.

Watch Live Football Match South Korea vs Uruguay
South Korea and Uruguay meet here today in a fascinating World Cup last-16 clash that few pundits would have predicted at the start of the tournament.
The Asian giants have earned a reputation as set piece masters in South Africa, with three of their five first round goals coming from free-kicks, some feat given the unpredictability of the Jubalani ball.
That prowess will be tested to the full at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium against a Uruguay side with a rock-solid defence that has yet to concede a goal.
Uruguay made it to the second round as surprise winners of Group A after holding France to a goalless draw, beating hosts South Africa 3-0, and closing with a 1-0 win over Mexico, Ajax striker Luis Suarez getting the all important goal.
Uruguay, winners of the inaugural World Cup on home soil in 1930 and again in 1950, crashed out on their last appearance in 2002 when co-hosts South Korea made it into the semi-finals.
A last-four place is again the target coach Huh Jung-moo has set for his Asian giants in South Africa.

Watch Live Match Brazil vs Portugal
World Cup favourites Brazil clash with their former colonial masters Portugal in their final Group G match on Friday, with the five-time champions already qualified for the round of 16.
Brazil have racked up a 2-1 win over North Korea and a 3-1 victory over Ivory Coast to sit pretty on six points. A draw would see them top the group.
Portugal, on a run of 17 matches without defeat, drew 0-0 with Ivory Coast before routing North Korea 7-0 to put them in second spot in the group and needing only a draw to advance to the next round.
Even if they were to lose against Brazil, Portugal's goal difference is such that Ivory Coast, with one point, would have to win handsomely, and then some, to be close to threatening them for second spot. The winners of Group G will play the runners-up in Group H, currently topped by Chile, with Spain and Switzerland in second on three points and Honduras winless.
To date, the Brazilians have won 12 and the Portuguese four of 18 matches with two drawn.

The Spaniards must defeat Chile to seal a spot and to win the group must also hope Switzerland, which delivered a 1-0 shocker over Spain in their Group H opener, cannot overcome Spain's goal-difference edge after facing Honduras.

"There's a long way to go before we can even think about being world champions, both in terms of time and matches."The Swiss loss derailed Spanish supremacy talk and not even a 2-0 victory over Honduras, new Barcelona signing Villa netting two goals, could change that. Olsen, who captained Denmark when they made their impressive 'dynamic' debut at the World Cup finals in 1986, acknowledged Japan are well-organised and difficult opponents but said his side will treat the game as if it was a final.Denmark will hope to improve on their patchy form and perform with greater purpose and concentration than they did against Cameroon last Saturday when goals by striker Nicklas Bendtner and winger Dennis Rommedahl gave them victory.
They had to come from behind after Samuel Eto'o capitalised on a Christian Poulsen mistake to fire Cameroon in front.

South Africa face a French side in disarray on Tuesday as they battle to avoid the indignity of being the only host nation in history to crash out in the first round of a World Cup.
The Bafana Bafana slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Uruguay in their second group game following an opening day draw with Mexico, leaving them rooted at the bottom of Group A with a single point and a minus-three goal difference.
France, finalists in 2006, have flopped in South Africa, suffering a miserable 2-0 reverse against Mexico following a goalless draw with Uruguay, with French coach Raymond Domenech admitting: "We need a miracle now."South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said: "There is respect for the French, but we do not fear them. We want to play well and finish the competition in style by winning."
Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar said the South Africans had tried to put the pain of their 3-0 defeat behind them.

Portugal and North Korea clash in a game crucial to their World Cup fortunes on Monday, reviving memories of their classic encounter at the 1966 World Cup.
The Portuguese were held to a goalless draw by Ivory Coast in their Group G opener while North Korea lost 2-1 to Brazil, but they won praise for putting up such a stellar fight.
The Koreans got almost everyone behind the ball to blunt Brazil's natural samba flair and they will need more of the same if they want to tame Portugal and their captain Cristiano Ronaldo. The odds Monday are stacked against the Koreans. They are ranked 105 in the world to Portugal's three, but they showed enough mettle against Brazil to suggest it will be a close encounter.
North Korea's danger man is their Japanese-based striker Jong Tae-Se, who has attracted the attention of VfL Bochum, with the German side interested in signing him.

Watch Live Football Match Chile vs Switzerland
The thought of Chile against Switzerland as a top-of-the-table clash in the same group as World Cup favourites Spain would have been inconceivable only a few days ago.
But both teams are in the unlikely position of joint Group H leaders after the Swiss stunned the Spaniards 1-0 and Chile beat Honduras by the same scoreline to seal their first win at a World Cup in 48 years.Chile's last win in the finals until their 1-0 win over Honduras had come in the 3rd/4th place playoff as hosts in 1962. They had since qualified for the World Cup four times but failed to win any group matches.
Both sides have vowed not to get ahead of themselves and expect the match to be a physical encounter fought more in the air than on the ground.

After struggling against lowly-ranked North Korea, Brazil are looking forward to facing better opponents at the World Cup.
The five-time champion Brazilians are hoping that more offensive teams such as Ivory Coast and Portugal will actually make things easier for them in Group G.

Brazil are hoping Ivory Coast will not take such a defensive approach at Soccer City on Sunday and give some space for the Brazilian attack to exploit.vory Coast are known for having a more offensive-minded team, and are likely to try to attack more because they need a victory to get into a good position in the group following the 0-0 draw with Portugal.

The Netherlands face Japan here today with both teams in a position to battle for top spot in Group E, a position that would see them potentially avoid Italy in the second round.
The Dutch beat Denmark 2-0 in their first game while the Japanese shocked Cameroon 1-0 for their first ever World Cup victory on foreign soil. The African side play the Danes in Saturday’s late match.
Dutch coach Bert Van Marwijk said the familiarity with Denmark’s game made for a no-mistakes contest on Monday, but he was expecting a different challenge against the Japanese.
‘Now the players are more relaxed and less nervous after their opening game I expect a better performance against Japan,’ he said.
‘The opening game in a tournament is always difficult, and while our first-half performance was not up to our standard, we should have worked things out better over this week in training.’
But the Oranje, two-time beaten World Cup finalists in 1974 and 1978, will likely be without star Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, who has failed to recover from a left hamstring injury sustained in a 6-1 friendly win over Hungary just before the tournament started.

Ghana captain John Mensah is not expecting Australia to throw caution to the wind as they seek to revive their World Cup campaign by beating the Black Stars here today.
Australia were punished for playing an open game against Germany in their group D opener and the 4-0 defeat has left the Socceroos facing virtually certain elimination if they lose to Ghana at the Royal Bafokeng stadium.
Ghana, in contrast, are on a high after a 1-0 win over Serbia that has given them a great chance of reaching the last 16, as they did in Germany four years ago.
‘The tournament couldn’t have started much better for us, winning our opening game against a tough Serbian team,’ said Mensah.Australia will be without their most potent goal threat, Tim Cahill, who is suspended as a result of the red card he received against Germany but will return for the final group match, against Serbia in Nelspruit on June 23.
Midfield anchor Vinnie Grella will also miss today’s match, as a result of a knee injury, with Carl Valeri expected to start in a line-up featuring several other changes from the side that was overrun by Germany.

Both Cameroon and Denmark will have their backs to the wall when they meet in a World Cup Group E clash at the Loftus Versfeld stadium here today.
Having lost their opening matches, both sides know that defeat in their second game of the group stages could spell the end of their interest in this year’s tournament. If the Netherlands and Japan were to draw in the other group game, then a defeat would see either Cameroon or Denmark eliminated.
But with two rivals already on three points, anything other than a victory will leave either side still with a mountain to climb in order to reach the knock-out phase.
And that’s something that has not been lost on Indomitable Lions midfielder Enoh Eyong Takang who believes the Africans must improve up front following their opening 1-0 defeat to Japan.

England are in a combative mood ahead of their must-win World Cup encounter with Algeria on Friday, with the return of Gareth Barry a boost to their confidence.
Fabio Capello's superstar team go into the Group C game in Cape Town under far more pressure than they would want after Robert Green's howler gifted the United States a point in their opening match.
Whether the West Ham goalkeeper retains his place remains to be seen, with David James and Joe Hart gnashing at the bit in the wings.
Capello is definitely without Ledley King who has a groin strain, meaning Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is expected to start alongside John Terry, although Matthew Upson is another option.
In a boost, Barry will play after an ankle injury kept him out of their opener, which would allow captain Steven Gerrard to return to a more offensive roleAlgeria, who have never faced England before, know that they too must win, having crashed 1-0 to Slovenia in their opening game.
Their only injury doubt is goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi, who sprained his left knew in training on Tuesday.
Captain Anther Yahia believes his side can cause problems.
"We have qualities which should shine through," said the 28-year-old.

Serbia are hurting after their opening defeat to Ghana and must show no fear if they are to stop 'machine-like' Germany here on Friday, striker Milan Jovanovic says.
Germany, arguably the team of the tournament at the World Cup so far, can all but seal a last 16 ticket with victory over the Serbs.
A stylish 4-0 demolition of Australia in their opener has left Joachim Loew's German side sitting pretty atop Group D.
Mathematically it is possible they could still be squeezed out but that would require a combination of improbable upsets, not least Australia's transformation from makeweights to man-eaters in their remaining games.
But Serbia are not in South Africa by accident, having excelled in qualifying to top their table forcing former champions France into the playoffs.
And Jovanovic has called on his teammates to go for Germany's jugular after his side's 1-0 reverse against Ghana in their first match.

Watch Live Match France vs Mexico
Troubled France tackle Mexico in a crucial Group A Polokwane showdown today desperate for a win that would raise morale and open the doors to the last 16.
Les Bleus (The Blues) have reached two of the last three finals, crushing Brazil 3-0 in the 1998 Paris climax with Zinedine Zidane scoring twice and losing a penalty shootout to Italy in Berlin four years ago.
But the French looked anything but potential finalists in Cape Town last Friday as they ground out a goalless draw with 10-man Uruguay in a group completed by hosts South Africa. A win over Mexico and they would have one foot in the second round ahead of their final mini-league fixture against South Africa on June 22 in the central city of Bloemfontein.
But a loss could prove catastrophic as it would probably leave the 2000 European champions needing maximum points against the hosts in probably the most intimidating South African cauldron to have any hope of survival.
